If you’ve been paying attention to my YouTube videos the last few months, you’ve probably picked up that I have a serious coat problem. Well, maybe it’s not a problem ? At least that is what I keep telling myself! Although warmer weather is fast approaching and my coat closet has taken over my regular closet, my obsession with winter time wear is likely to continue as I justify the good off-season deals that I’m about to get. I’m afraid my coat addiction is about to spiral out of control! Looks like a large walk-in closet (or two) has just made it to my must have list for our future house hunt.
Lately, my fashion is becoming more and more inspired by the 1960s /70s and although these decades have long influenced my fashion accessories and bohemian home decor, I’m finding it even harder to resist my urges to go all out. You just might catch me at your local music festival this next year!
Check out these pictures! The layers and fringe are amazing!
After stumbling across the above photos, there was no stopping me from purchasing my very own Penny Lane embroidered Afghan coat. Embroidery was a MUST! My quest was on and I hit the virtual pavement scouring the web for the perfect coat at a reasonable price. FINALLY, I came across one sold by Visionary Vintage. It didn’t take me long to shoot a DM to Melissa on Instagram and justify the purchase as a Christmas gift to myself 😂!
But alas, it wasn’t meant to be 😢 The coat arrived and sadly my broad shoulders made my dream coat too snug. I have to say, buying clothes online only to find out that it doesn’t fit happens more than I’d like to admit, usually due to my excitement of my find causing me to overlook the measurements 🤦🏻♀️. Back when I used to be a vendor at the Portland Flea, in my clothing racks you could typically find a few items that I had to resell due to this. I would like to think of myself as more a a “broker” in these situations, where vintage clothing could find their correct homes.
Well, I no longer am a vendor at the flea market but I have begun offering vintage clothing here on my website. I sure do miss setting up my flea market spaces with all my favorite finds (and I deeply miss the people too!!!) . I am looking forward to the time when we can sell and shop flea markets together again!
Luckily my loss has become another’s gain as the beautiful Afghan coat has recently sold in my shop and the circle of vintage goes on. 😊
So, my hunt for the my perfect Penny Lane coat continues!
